From initial concept through to final product delivery and beyond, contribute to business development initiatives and sustainment efforts. + Technical Expertise: Strong background in engineering principles, particularly in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies and tools. + Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams towards achieving project milestones and objectives. What you will do: + Directs Engineering activities, execute project against established schedule, support customer meetings, edit Engineering BOMs, author service documents, etc. + Performs critical path analysis and prepares and implements work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects. Including performing proper risk management and mitigation. + Conducts meetings, consolidates, and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s). + Identifies and reacts to project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications. + Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Including monitoring and assessing project issues. Then developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. + Coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines as needed. + Reviews project and budget status, manages schedules and prepares reports. + Establishes seating design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, validation, verification, and test. + Provide seating design, build, assembly, and process solutions to resolve manufacturing and in-field problems. + Direct building of prototypes and development hardware, including writing statements of work. Support on-going builds and product modifications depending on project and/or business needs. + Performs various engineering activities that cannot be attributed to a defined discipline including, but not limited to continuous improvement initiatives. + 10-15% travel required, based on business needs. Qualifications you must have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications: Qualifications we prefer: + Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems for commercial aircraft seating products, especially in an aftermarket capacity. + Experience with commercial seating applications in a design engineering or project engineering capacity. + Familiarity with FAA requirements a plus.
