MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Description

PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS Maintenance of all equipment and physical structures in compliance with

corporate/franchise

standards, local, state and national codes and regulations to protect the asset, guests and employees, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses, and maximize guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): Performs maintenance of boilers, pumps, refrigeration, mechanical and electrical equipment through a scheduled maintenance program. Maintains accurate records of various logs and meter readings. Perform general clean up of all areas of the building as directed Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, and parking lot Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped Troubleshoot issues with PTAC system and lighting SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES –

HOURS Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends and night shifts.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED. At least 1 year of maintenance experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors and fellow employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction and multiplication.

REASONING ABILITY Must be able to analyze invoice data to make appropriate judgments regarding maintenance duties

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Practice written safety standards and rules at all times. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
