Come join our team Mobius is seeking a Systems Engineering supporting the Missile Defense Architecture. This person will work with advanced technical team members to develop missile defense concepts referencing existing technologies and new, innovative ideas. They will craft analysis plans and interpret information that helps assess Missile defense System (MDS) architecture alternatives. The person will work within MDA's Chief Architect office and other MDA offices, as well as other Department of Defense and other government agencies. Candidates will leverage their system engineering background with defense related systems to include sensors, weapons, command & control, and space systems supporting requirements development, program definition, and acquisition development. The successful candidate will have the ability to work and collaborate in cross-functional teams, interacting with the technical customers, interacting with senior technical staff and other government agencies. This full-time salaried position reports to an office at Fort Belvoir, VA.

This position requires an energetic candidate that can handle a position in a small team with diverse responsibilities. This position requires travel within the United States 3-4 days, twice a year on average.

Duties of a Systems Engineer may include:

  • Source new technical concepts from industry, academia, national labs, and other organizations
  • Interpret application of technology to the missile defense mission
  • Produce reports and presentations to communicate concepts and value assessments to missile defense stakeholders including leadership, congressional staff, colleagues, and partners
  • Develop capabilities-based acquisition approaches for concepts/systems under study
  • Review documentation for consistency with approved baselines and system architectures
  • Develop plans of action and milestones for analytical study efforts
  • Review and contribute to the development of program plans and strategies
Requirements
  • Technical or programmatic experience with Ballistic Missile Defense applicable technologies preferred (e.g., sensor, interceptor, C2BMC (Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications))
  • Familiarity with the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) sensor architecture, Space Based Infra-Red System (SBIRS) and other programs of record
  • Familiarity with Special Access Program (SAP) security protocols preferred
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Office 365, One Drive
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education Requirement
  • Masters of Science in Engineering, Math or Physics
Clearance Requirement
  • ACTIVE Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance
