Application Engineer Job Description
We are looking for a full-time Application Engineer to help take our company to the next level. As a small-medium sized business in the emerging energy efficiency and renewable energy space, our goal is to grow sales 30% per year and become a national leader. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and work well in a fast-paced environment to provide support to the Intelli-Hood field service technicians, and customers. This person will report to the Applications Engineering Supervisor.

Application Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops equipment specifications and performance requirements for Demand Controlled Kitchen Ventilation (DCKV) systems.
  • Evaluates commercial kitchen equipment and mechanical systems to ensure compatibility with Intelli- Hood DCKV Systems.
  • Designs DCKV systems, including producing BOMs and CAD drawings, utilizing site survey information and building prints.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to sales team to communicate products and service to support client needs. Uses programming expertise and experience to adapt equipment specific job applications.
  • Prepares operating instructions and programming for DCKV systems.
  • Oversees installation of mechanical equipment and sensors to ensure they function in accordance with design specifications.
  • Analyzes alternative techniques and methods and recommends changes to equipment or procedures as needed.
  • Analyzes performance data to verify equipment is performing to industry standards.
  • Establishes operations and maintenance procedures to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
  • Provide technical support to customers, contractors, and the Melink National Network.
  • Fulfill part order requests from various customers needing replacement parts in their existing systems.
  • Coordinate troubleshoots and request support for a technician to be on site when necessary.
  • Shares technical information and training with other departments.
  • Any other job duties as assigned.

Application Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3-4 years of professional experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering and programming including electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
  • Proficient with computer industrial design systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with computer design systems and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • HVAC and renewable energy industry knowledge a plus
