Job Description:

Our client in Wayne, PA has an immediate opening for a Payroll Tax Accountant. As a Payroll Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of payroll and related tax filings on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. You will also provide tax filing support to auditors, research tax laws and regulations, assist in payroll processing, and handle tax notices from federal, state, and local agencies. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll-related accounts, handling accounting functions, and generating reports as needed.

Essential Duties:

  • accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll and related tax filings.
  • tax filing support to auditors and coordinate tax audits as needed.
  • and respond to all tax notices from federal, state, and local agencies in a timely manner.
  • laws and regulations regarding federal, state, and local taxes in a multi-state environment.
  • in processing and reviewing payroll weekly.
  • state and local taxes are set up appropriately for each associate within the payroll system.
  • and maintain controls including relationships with auditors, state and federal agencies, and third-party vendors.
  • quarterly and annual adjustments with team lead and Manager of Payroll.
  • for payroll funding and accounts payables within the payroll department.
  • all department accounting functions, including reconciliation of payroll-related accounts and preparation of journal entries.
  • ad hoc payroll accounting reports as needed.
  • maintain, and manage detailed project plans and timelines for assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • of five (5) years of working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax concepts in a multi-state environment.
  • of five (5) years of working knowledge of accounting and planning software packages in a payroll environment.
  • with ADP payroll system is a plus.
