As the Quality & Testing Manager, you will manage in partnership with the VP of Global Technical Services the overall accountability for quality of Lands' End products. You will be responsible for all product safety and traceability for Lands' End. In this role, you will manage all product recalls and product design safety issues. In support of our commitment to sustainability, you will also lead product and material certifications for sustainable materials, as well as trace and test materials throughout the entire supply chain. This role will oversee DC quality and testing issues, working with our factory quality team to address issues and ensure our product meets Lands' End quality standards. In addition, you will be proactive, solution oriented, display a strong sense of urgency and have the ability to build strong cross functional partnerships with Product Development, Production, Quality and Mills/Vendors. You will own the quality of Lands' End, including both the process and end product.
Job Function:
- Manage Product Safety , CPSC and product recalls
- Advise on product design safety issues
- Participate in product safety industry groups
- Responsible for policies, procedures, and standards that drive continuous improvement of product quality assurance. Maintain and create SOP's that drive consistent, high quality processes working in collaboration with our overseas QA.
- Manage changes to regulations, EPA, PFAS reporting, prop 65, product GCC or COC process e-filing
- Manage product and material certifications for sustainable materials
- Ensure advertising claims are consistent with testing and chain of custody certifications
- Participate in tracing and mapping supply chain tools and integration with PLM Centric tool
- Oversee, Quality in Distribution Centers, and Internal Testing Lab
- Liaison with DC/Sourcing/Global QA on resolving issues at source
- Responsible for accurate Reporting on overall QA performance results & scorecard
- Audit vendors and second party processes to ensure they meet internal requirements and regulatory standards
- Manage vendors for factory audits and inspections
- Ensure product safety and testing thru third-party testing labs to maintain an elevated level of quality assurance
- Advise on customer concerns/comments, Testing issues, Labeling errors or updates, Third Party and licensing product questions
- Extensive knowledge of fabric, testing, construction, and manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of PLM
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- College Degree in textile technology, preferred
- Management experience in leading a QA team and in collaborating with QA team in overseas office
- Over 10 years of experience in the garment industry with strong QA and factory production background
- Good understanding of Testing Methodologies, experience in overseeing Testing lab
- Technical expert with excellent understanding in manufacturing operations
- Good understanding of fabric and garment construction
