Provide general supervision for the Academic Year Component, working in collaboration with the EOP Leadership Team. Supervise and provide professional development for the Counseling staff: Student Success Advisers, Head Residential Counselor and Peer Counselors. Monitor and assure all students are completing all admissions, financial aid/verification requirements on a timely basis. Comprise, review and assess statistical program data, i.e., student academic performance, classification retention, course selection, degree qualifications, graduation records, forwarding findings/recommendations to the Director. Assist the Director with long and short range planning, and assure that students are taking advantage of supportive services and activities to retain enrollment and graduation. Co-Coordinate the EOP and Student Services annual report process with the Director.Conduct other duties as assigned by the Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage Counseling, advising, enrollment (recruitment, admissions, financial aid), and student initiatives in EOP. The Associate Director will assist in the creation and tracking of the program's operational budget.
- Monitor and make recommendations for the development of the EOP recruitment strategies along with the Director for Admissions. Responsible for the distribution of financial aid information along with Enrollment Services. Chair the EOP Admission Selection Committee.
- Works with Financial Aid to ensure the appropriate allocation of all EOP student awards have been made. Monitors state and federal verification process in order to ensure that students complete verification in a timely manner. Serves as the liaison between the University Enrollment Services, NJ EOF, HESAA. The Associate Director will also ensure compliance with institutional, state and federal financial aid requirements and mandates for EOP students.
- Develops and coordinates all aspects of EOP student professional development: workshops, career goals, community meetings, alumni engagement, etc.
- Co-Coordinates with the Director the annual report process for EOF Central Office and the Division of Student Services. The Associate Director is also responsible for all assessment activities for the EOP.
- Assist the Director in preparation of program reports: TAG and EOF Rosters. And serves as a liaison between university Enrollment Services, Counseling Center, Disability Services, Health Services, New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund and HESAA.
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling or a related discipline.
- Position requires a minimum of 5 years experience in EOF, HEOP, TRIO Programs, HRL or any other related college based opportunity program.
