Global Indirect Tax Manager

Gowan is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager with experience in US Sales and Use Tax and international indirect tax to include VAT, GST/HST, to assist and support the Global Finance Group meet their Indirect Tax Obligations. In this role, you will provide guidance on indirect tax laws and regulations, manage tax compliance, and identify tax optimization opportunities as well as assess potential areas of indirect tax risk. Experience in property tax, and escheat tax is desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with cross-functional groups within the company and provide analysis on a variety of worldwide indirect tax laws and regulations to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure tax needs are identified, considered, and communicated
Manage third party compliance teams to ensure all obligations are completed accurately and on time.
Support Federal, state and international audits as required.
Evaluate and implement a global indirect tax determination tool and ensure proper classification of our products within this tool.
Develop indirect tax operational processes, focusing on controls, automation, efficiency, and analytics
Conduct calculations pertinent to CFCs, sub-part F calculations, and GILTI calculations.
Assist, and participate in the indirect tax aspects of acquisitions, mergers, divestitures and restructurings, and tax planning initiatives as needed.
Assist in Identifying and analyzing opportunities to minimize indirect tax liabilities and respond to technical tax questions from all levels of company personnel.
Provide training to all levels of company personnel with regard to indirect tax.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum of 5 Years experience with a public accounting firm or multinational company
Extensive experience and working knowledge in international indirect tax
Demonstrated experience in cultivating cross-functional relationships and communicating complicated tax technical matters at all levels and business functions
Proven project management skills and organizational skills with the experience to prioritize multiple competing tasks in a dynamic environment
Must be legally authorized to work in United States.
The ideal candidate will be willing to relocate to Yuma, AZ however Gowan may be open to a hybrid work arrangement, with travel to Yuma as needed.
Skills:
Strong Knowledge of Indirect Tax Software (i.e., Vertex, OneSource Indirect Tax, etc.
Orientation to detail
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel,
Knowledge of Power BI and Alteryx
Travel inside and outside the US as required.
Working environment:
Work in office environment at a desk for extended periods of time using computer
Travel to include international travel as required
Light filing and some travel.
Occasional
light lift objects may be required.
Occasional overtime may be required.
