What You Will Do:
  • Provide Weld Engineering process support to Metallurgical & Chemical organization for GTAW, EB and Laser Welding for components manufactured at North Berwick Aero Systems.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Cell Leaders and production personnel to continually improve Laser processes and equipment capabilities.
  • Work from blueprints, process specifications and quality procedures to develop and improve welding related manufacturing process yields, including improvements in tooling, capital equipment and process capability using 6-sigma and statistical process controls.
  • Work closely with Design Engineering and provide guidance on new design concepts to best utilize equipment and standard practices.
  • Coordinate engineering tests and experiments to troubleshoot and improve processes related to design, materials, or processes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S) in Weld Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 3 - 5 year's related experience in welding processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Welding Processes and Equipment.
  • Experience in improving welding performance, and implementing, maintaining, and improving process controls, inclusive of knowledge of aerospace materials, tool/fixture design.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in joining processes including GTAW, Laser, and EB Welding, Brazing is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills and general office software.
  • Flexibility around work hours, for training and development activities.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
