A reputable CPA firm located in Chicago, IL, is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a permanent position. This company offers an exceptionally flexible schedule and the opportunity for remote or hybrid work arrangements (applicants must reside within an hour of the Chicago area). The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in accounting and finance, with comprehensive expertise in client bookkeeping and taxation. This role presents a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with a team of seasoned professionals and directly contribute to the financial success of a diverse client portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of clients' accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, financial closing, reporting, and tax preparation.
  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and guidelines established by the CPA profession.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly and professionally addressing client inquiries and concerns.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and changes in tax laws to ensure compliance and provide clients with accurate and current information.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is a plus, though not required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a CPA firm.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in client bookkeeping and taxation.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly
