Client Overview:

Our client, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization, is looking for a motivated

Grant Accountant

to join their Accounting team at their Sarasota, Florida headquarters. This is a valuable opportunity for a Grant Accountant professional to join an internationally known organization and support their long-term strategy and growth. The Grant Accountant must be a focused and diligent worker who excels in both accounting and federal grant funding.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$55k - $65k

Position Overview:

The Grant Accountant will join the unified Accounting Department, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, and working closely with the Senior Accountant. The Grant Accountant will oversee and audit the work of the grant accounting and general ledger maintenance duties.

Responsibilities of the Grant Accountant:

General ledger management Regularly review grants (federal and state) to ensure accuracy Record both revenue and expenses for grants Bank and credit reconciliations Journal entries and discrepancy resolution Month end closing procedures Assist with AR and AP aging reports Financial Statement preparation and reporting (grants) Review compliance for federal, state, local, and private grants

Qualifications for the Grant Accountant:

3 - 5 years of accounting experience Experience with a nonprofit is a plus Highly proficient in Excel (v/h-lookups, pivot tables, and formulas) Self-sufficient and works well independently Detail and numbers-oriented Highly organized and efficient Positive attitude and professional

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required
