Overall Goal of Position:
Support Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller to improve processes in order to produce financials timely and to help make OurRecipe@SauerBrands.
Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for financial statement preparation and reporting. This position is heavily involved in other accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and treasury. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes general ledger activity and makes corrections and adjustments in accordance with agreed upon goals and GAAP.
Owns processes related to monthly closing, financial statement analysis, and directs others in transactional accounting.
Prepares accurate, timely journal entries as needed.
Conducts monthly account reconciliations and assists Staff Accountant if needed for balance sheet, revenue, and expense accounts to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Assist Accounting Manager with optimizing accounts payable processes.
Manages daily treasury function.
Analyzes financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to management’s attention.
Reviews all inter-company transactions and clears and reconciles as necessary.
Manages data for monthly reporting and assists plant controllers in inventory and COGS reconciliations.
Assist Accounting Manager with coordinating annual external audit and other audits.
Special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Performance Standards (the criteria that will be used to evaluate performance):
Assist with publishing financials on business day 6.
Improve processes to achieve future goal for publishing financials by business day 4.
Work with Supply Chain team and Suppliers to increase DPO.
Reduce hands-on workload of accounting manager and controller through taking on responsibility and demonstrating competence.
Personal effectiveness-meeting timelines/deadlines and productivity requirements (quantity and quality of work)
Personal interaction, communication and teamwork with internal and external parties, consistent with OurRecipe@SauerBrands.

Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:
IT Savvy
Must possess strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel. PeopleSoft a plus.
A developed understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to research complex accounting issues.
Ability to work with data using data analysis tools, Power BI experience a plus.
Ability to work and thrive under time constraints and juggle/prioritize responsibilities.
Must be able to work independently and perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment.
Highly organized
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication abilities
Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction.
Eye for detail and accuracy is imperative.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
A minimum 3+ years’ experience in general accounting
CPA or CMA licensed or actively working towards license.
