With centuries of experience, we are a powerful supplier of both domestic and imported, exotic hardwood lumber such as Teak, Sapele, Genuine Mahogany, Black Walnut, and Ipe. J. Gibson McIlvain is more than just materials and with our comprehensive architectural millwork facility, we offer custom millwork services from interior trim and cabinetry to exterior siding, pergolas, and furniture.

The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role at J. Gibson McIlvain working very closely with Managers, Logistics Officer, CDL Drivers and Customers to ensure timely/safe deliveries of our products Nationwide.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Scan in delivery slips from previous day and save in appropriate folders.
  • Review daily deliveries for accuracy
  • Schedule deliveries and pickups with both JGM Drivers and third party carriers.
  • Call customers to confirm addresses, receiving times, truck accessibility.
  • Make copies of shipping documents; separate and label with appropriate trucking information.
  • Send UPS orders.
  • Print delivery slips and update routing orders.
  • Coordination with drivers for delivery.
  • Manage registration books such as removing old registrations and adding new ones.
  • Keep accurate Department of Transportation (DOT) records including: track trucking files, medical cards, license renewals, Driver time, and Driver incentive program.
  • Clerical work including but not limited to creating spreadsheets, tracking and logging inventory.
Job Requirements:
  • Prior Logistics/Dispatch experience is strongly preferred
  • High school diploma or higher education
  • 1 to 2 years' experience using Google Sheets and Excel
  • 1 year of lumber track is preferred
  • Strong safety protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Schedule flexibility: Must be able to start around 5am for approximately 6 months of training. After training, schedule normally Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, however flexibility with schedule still required.
  • Reliable transportation to White Marsh, MD.
