About this job:

The position of Contract Services Internal Auditor is responsible for auditing accounts, documents, and procedures within our Contract Services department. The role will also coordinate external audits of bank fin-tech partners, track audit findings to completion, and prepare audit exception update reports. This role requires a strong understanding of auditing procedures, internal controls, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in various aspects of the job.

As a Contract Services Internal Auditor you will:
  • Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Auditing/Loan Review, the Contract Services Internal Auditor will conduct and coordinate various bank audits related to the bank's fintech partners, prepare corresponding reports, and track audit findings.
  • Perform internal audits on various bank accounts, documents, and processes related to the Contract Service department. Develop scopes for the reviews, perform the audit work, communicate findings to impacted team members, and present written findings to the Audit Committee.
  • Assess accuracy and internal controls over Contract Services general ledger accounts, internal ddas, and reserve accounts
  • Assist in preparing documents and performing corresponding tests to ensure compliance with FDICIA.
  • Coordinate Contract Services external audits by scheduling meetings and acting as the liaison for interactions between external firms, internal employees and third party relationships
  • Track resolution of Contract Services audit observations and prepare corresponding reporting for management and oversight committees.
  • Report audit findings to the Senior Vice President of Auditing/Loan Review and, if needed, present reports to the Audit Committee and/or Contract Services Committee
  • Facilitate proper payment of Contract Services external audit invoices
  • Complete Contract Services Audit Risk Assessments and lead the process of determining the scope for each relationship's external audit
  • Research to assist in selecting firms to perform audit work
  • Ensure audit activities comply with regulatory guidelines
  • Assist with monitoring regulatory changes that may affect needed audits
  • Maintain knowledge of audit and fintech partnership best practices, trends in the industries and their impact on the bank
  • Make recommendations to develop or revise appropriate policies and procedures, contracts and agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Interact with auditors and regulators on Contract Services audit issues
  • Assist with other audit department functions, as needed
  • Conduct work in a professional manner which seeks to ensure it is effective and commands a high standard of respect both internally and externally.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and at least five years of experience in bank auditing and/or bank operations.
  • Experience assisting with all aspects of bank internal & external audits and regulatory examinations is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing bank and fin-tech partnership programs is also preferred.
