Process Improvement Specialist

Job Summary

The Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and enhancing the operational performance at AmeriGas related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. The Process Improvement Specialist will support in conducting lean and continuous improvement methodologies to understand current performance against business metrics. The role will create and maintain business intelligence applications (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.) to leverage data to highlight potential solutions for performance improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partners with the Operation Strategy and Improvement team on lean and continuous improvement methodologies to understand current performance against ideal operational aspirations.
  • Identifies and implements business intelligence applications (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.) to collect, analyze data, and present data easily to support leaders in making informed decisions on the best path forward.
  • Supports with understanding current state of performance through data collection, observations, root cause identification, process mapping, etc. and leverages data to support solutions for improvement.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to understand needs and performance of the business, and supports in ideation of process enhancements for improved efficiencies and productivity.
  • Monitors business performance and implementation progress and communicates updates to leadership on results.
  • Supports with change management activities and adoption of enhanced ways of working.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Strong analytical and technology skills to collect, interpret, and analyze data.
  • Ability to summarize data in clear, concise methods that help drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with business intelligence applications (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in lean and continuous improvement methodologies and implementing effective best practices in organizations.
Required Competencies/Characteristics
  • Strong project management and process skills.
  • Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills and building relationships.
  • Demonstrated business/financial acumen.
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Strong bias for action and results with a hands-on approach.
Education Required
  • College Graduate BS in business related major.
  • Advanced degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of continuous or process improvement in large organizations required.
Working Conditions
  • Office environment. Moderate travel required.
