Description

The Kitchen Assistant ensures that the dining room and serving counters are clean and set up for meal service. This role helps the Kitchen team prepare items for made to order and buffet style meal service and ensures that the buffet replenished as needed during mealtimes. The role ensures that the pantry, cabinets, and refrigerators are fully stocked daily in all buildings. This role will be responsible for cleaning all dishes, utensils, and food prep items during and at the completion of each meal service. They will also be expected to do routine cleaning tasks and support the other members of the kitchen team throughout their shift.

Requirements

Qualifications Needed:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior waitstaff or professional kitchen experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Serve Safe Food Service Sanitation Certificate strongly preferred (we will provide)
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with a diverse population.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
  • Exposed to steam, hot air, gas, dishwasher chemical, cooking power equipment and sharp utensils.
  • Required to walk extensively throughout the shift in and between kitchen, pantry, storeroom, dining room and other areas.
  • Ability to bend, reach, pull and lift.
  • Ability to carry boxes and milk weighing from 10 to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to concentrate and work safely in a noisy kitchen environment.
  • Ability to safely assemble, operate and disassemble various kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to safely drive a golf cart as needed


Salary Description

Starting at $19.00 per hour
