Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable individual to join our team as the Director of Regulatory and Compliance. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our company's products and operations comply with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines set forth by regulatory bodies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Plant Importation and Maintenance Regulations Act (PMRA), and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and involves collaboration with various departments to uphold regulatory standards while supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive regulatory compliance strategies and programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Serve as the primary liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, including the EPA, PMRA, and FIFRA, maintaining strong relationships and staying abreast of regulatory developments and updates. Lead regulatory assessments and audits to identify compliance gaps, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement, providing guidance and recommendations to relevant stakeholders. Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, permits, registrations, and other documentation required for product approval, importation, and maintenance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Legal, to ensure regulatory considerations are integrated into product development, labeling, and marketing initiatives. Develop and deliver training programs on regulatory requirements, compliance best practices, and relevant policies to internal stakeholders to foster a culture of regulatory awareness and accountability. Monitor and analyze emerging regulatory trends, legislation, and enforcement actions, proactively advising senior management on potential impacts and mitigation strategies. Stay informed about industry advancements, technological innovations, and scientific developments relevant to the company's products and regulatory landscape, applying insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning. Continuously assess and enhance the company's regulatory and compliance processes, systems, and controls to maintain effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with industry standards and best practices. Uphold ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism in all regulatory and compliance activities, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and reliability in reporting and communication.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Science, or a related field required Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in regulatory affairs, compliance management, or related roles within the chemical industry, with a strong understanding of EPA regulations, PMRA, and FIFRA requirements. Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying complex regulatory frameworks, standards, and guidelines related to chemical products, environmental protection, and public health. Proven track record of successfully leading regulatory compliance initiatives, managing regulatory submissions, and navigating interactions with regulatory agencies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships, communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, and advocate for regulatory compliance priorities. Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, anticipate future regulatory challenges, and develop innovative strategies to address evolving regulatory requirements and business needs. Proficiency in relevant software applications, regulatory databases, and information management systems.
