Job Summary: The Field Service Engineer's primary responsibility is the checkout and verification of project sites and the development of general controls and contracting skills. The Field Service Engineer will be on project sites for the vast majority of the work week, going directly to and leaving directly from project sites and home.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Candidates must be open to travel within the Chicagoland area. No overnight travel required.
  • Candidates must have experience working with Building Automation Systems.
  • Perform checkout and verification of project sites.
  • Conduct point-to-point checkout of all equipment on the assigned job.
  • Complete a checkout book detailing point-to-point verification.
  • Make detailed notes of locations of physical equipment.
  • Verify all hardware according to appropriate guidelines.
  • Note offsets, calibrations, issues, or failures in the checkout book.
  • Troubleshoot issues with any equipment on project site.
  • Write service tickets for any issue outside the scope of the project.
  • Contact supervisor in the event of an issue outside of skill set.
  • Contact technical support when unable to resolve with supervisor.
  • Create and maintain daily logs every day: Note equipment that checkout was completed on that day, note problems or issues that arose, and note interference issues from other contractors.
  • Understand the scope of your project: Know the hours allotted to you for your particular task, read through and understand submittals, mechanical drawings, specifications, and other pertinent project details, and look for potential change orders and bring to the attention of supervisor.
