Take our systems to the next level We're looking for a talented engineer to help us develop the next generation of our cloud platforms. You will develop and support hypervisor software as well as deployment, provisioning, control, and monitoring systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for: Designing and developing next-generation capabilities for Akamai's cloud platform Enhancing existing monitoring and provisioning interfaces Troubleshooting problems with the deployed system Collaborating with the various testing, operations, and development teams that work on our cloud platforms To be successful in this role you will: Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or its equivalent Have experience with the art of writing maintainable, secure, and highly reliable code Possess experience with Python coding (some background in C/C++, Perl, and/or Go would also be helpful) Have hands-on experience with Linux (including deep system knowledge in an area such as OS principles, networking, or system internals) Possess experience with low-level complex software systems such as virtualization, file systems, or any distributed systems Be a team player with a collaborative spirit, possessing solid written and verbal communication skills Work in a way that works for you. Compensation. Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $106,600 - $221,400/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
