What You'll Do As An Offsite Inventory Coordinator Ensure that contingency medications and supplies in pharmacys convenience boxes and automated medication storage (AMS) units are prepared, processed, audited, and replenished accurately and timely to provide uninterrupted access. Plan and assist with installation and training of AMS units in client facilities. Maintain and manage inventory in the pharmacy and in on-site AMS units, including processing expired items. Follow all current government regulations for the provision of contingency medications and supplies to LTC facilities. Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports from the AMS systems database and resolve discrepancies. Ensure clear communication regarding C box/AMS projects/activities/issues with pharmacy and nursing staff. Train facility nursing staff and/or help troubleshoot issues that arise with AMS units in the field. Accurately retrieve, count, measure, prepare, package, and label medications and non-sterile compounds. Operate and properly maintain pharmacy equipment related to job duties. Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols. Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care. Develop technical knowledge of the products/services provided by the pharmacy and be able to provide information of same to others upon request. Participate in educational and professional programs and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge and competency in current and developing techniques, professional standards, and pharmacy services. Assist in resolving facility/patient problems under emergency conditions. Assist with quality improvement programs to meet company and accreditation standards. Other duties as directed. Qualifications and Requirements Current unencumbered license in the state of practice: Certified Pharmacy Technician (certification not required for Illinois Pharmacy Technicians licensed before 2008). High School diploma or graduate equivalent degree. College preferred. LTC pharmacy or hospital pharmacy experience required. Experience with pharmacy automation preferred. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Strong computer skills, including familiarity with basic Microsoft Office; must be able to work in Forums document management, pharmacy information, and client relationship management software systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic math skills. Knowledge of medication brand and generic names and medical terminology. Sitting, standing, walking; at desk, in office throughout facility and pharmacy. Operation of office machinery and pharmacy equipment. Occasionally lift/move items up to 40 pounds. Ability to work in fast-paced, production environment and travel to customer locations as needed. Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
