As part of a diverse and hardworking team of professionals, specialists, and engineers, you will develop strategic procurement solutions and complete day to day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of supply chain operations, driving organizational and policy change to enhance Blue Origin's bottom-line.
Our Buyer II will ensure program requirements are appropriately prioritized and executed to meet the needs of Blue Origin Maritime activities. They will be competent in Blue Origin Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives. They have excellent oral and written skills, and solid communication skills. They also have experience preparing and issuing Requests for Proposal/ Requests for Quote, performing cost analysis in support of proposals, and have developed negotiation strategies and led formal negotiations. Our Buyer II is experienced in constructing various contracting types for major procurement activities to meet the requirements of the programs and needs of the business to include long range procurement agreements, sourcing partnerships, continuous improvement initiatives, and identification of opportunities for enhanced efficiencies. They take ownership of the procurement process from requisition creation through final payment of invoices and are accountable to resolve issues within this process. They will lead the identification, implementation, negotiation, execution, and management of strategic agreements (i.e., Long-Term Agreements (LTAs)) where mutually beneficial. They will support the overall procurement organization's strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved to include delivery of production materials that are on time, within budget and meet technical performance requirements.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related industry experience.
* Experience with procurement of maritime products and services of varying degrees of technical and contractual complexity
* Experience negotiating commercial vessel charters
* Experience negotiating maritime towage contracts
* Experience with shipyard contracts to include dry docking and emergent vessel repair scope
* Experience with maritime logistics, to include interfacing with port authorities
* Experience with Maritime support services to include vendor relationship management (Commercial Diving, 3rd party surveyors, fuel brokers, agents, marine chemists, ship fabrication/repair and emergency response)
* Understanding of US Government and non-US Government / Commercial acquisitions
* Demonstrated knowledge / compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
* Demonstrated knowledge / compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
* Experience with most Contract Types (Firm-Fixed Price, Time & Material, Cost Plus)
* Experience in assessing proposal compliance (FAR 15.4)
* Experienced supporting DCMA Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) events.
* (MARAD).
* Familiar with Operations and regulatory requirements associated with US Flagged Vessels
* Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records.
* Strong analytical skills, data driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics
* Interprets and applies company, policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards and U.S. government regulations, i.e., FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
* Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations.
* Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the supply chain department.
* Must have top notch people, teaming and communication skills.
* Working understanding of ISO 9001 standards.
* Knowledge of Engineering Data such as specifications & source control drawings.
* An eagerness to identify opportunities, find solutions, execute plans, and evaluate results critically and expediently

* Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification
