Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Under the supervision of a provider, assists and performs a variety of patient care duties and adheres to performance expectations of all defined services or related duties for the clinics of MercyOne Northeast IA.What you will Do: Assist provider in providing care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served based on principles of growth and development. Analyze records for completeness and understanding of patient history.Greet and identify patient.Prepare patient for exam while protecting patient's privacy/modesty.Review and document current medication and allergiesTake vital signs, obtain chief complaints, history, and documents.Assist provider with routine procedures.Provide patient care as directed by providers (i.e., immunizations, spirometry, injections, EKG, nebulizer, ear washing, wart removal, etc.Prepare exam/procedure rooms and equipment for patient care.Assist providers with patient care via phone, mail and/or fax.Gather and analyze relevant information provided by patients.Triage calls per established provider protocols.Provide summary of patient needs and/or test results to provider.Communicate information from provider to patient regarding next step(s).Hours/Schedule: .8 FTE; 64 hours per pay period Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED.Medical Assistant Diploma or LPN/RN license.6-month experience in a clinic setting preferred.Intermediate language, intermediate math, intermediate reasoning ability.Basic computer skills required.Ability to work with diverse groups of people.Ability to effectively interact with other health care professionals and the public.Ability to present a positive image.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.Position Highlights and Benefits $5000 Sign-On BonusPersonalized health plans including dental and vision effective on start dayRetirement plan with company match up to 6%Paid time offLife insurance; long- and short-term disability insuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) & Wellness programsVoluntary benefits such as legal, critical illlness, pet insurance, etcMinistry/Facility Information: MercyOne Northeast Iowa provides expert health care to eight counties.
