The hospital shall not be liable for actions or treatments provided by physicians.Position Summary: Full-Time Trauma Coordinator, RN (5x8 hrs - AM)As a Trauma Coordinator, RN, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing trauma patient care within our hospital. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in trauma nursing, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. You will also have the opportunity to grow in leadership, mentor nursing staff, and influence hospital-wide trauma initiatives.Join our team at GWUH recognized for excellence in trauma care and patient outcomes, and contribute to improving patient care through performance improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities: Coordinate and facilitate the care of trauma patients from admission to discharge, ensuring seamless transitions between departments and healthcare providers. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary trauma team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Act as a resource for nursing staff, providing education and support related to trauma care protocols and best practices. Collect and analyze data related to trauma patient outcomes, contributing to the continuous improvement of trauma care processes. Participate in trauma performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities. Serve as a liaison between the trauma team, other hospital departments, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Master's Degree in Health Care related field, such as MSN, MHA, MBA preferred. Active RN license. 5 years of acute care experience required. 3 years in critical care settings (ICU, ER, CVICU, CCU, Stepdown, etc.). Trauma experience highly preferred. Quality and Performance Improvement knowledge is a plus. Knowledge of licensure regulations, American College of Surgeons regulations, and the ACS Trauma Verification process is a plus. Certification in specialty (CPHQ) preferred. BLS required.
