As a Senior Research Engineer, you will assume responsibility for planning and implementing a variety of complex assignments. Some of your duties will include but are not limited to: Identifying new concepts and coordinating efforts with other engineering specializations. Identifying and resolving complex problems and initiatives and makes recommendations on solutions. Justifying additional research and/or investigation initiatives. Performing independent analysis, investigation, and planning of specific engineering criteria, characteristics, and features to meet assignment goals.The potential future candidate is someone who: Pay attention to detail. When you join Cleveland Clinic, you'll be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.Responsibilities:Performs routine engineering investigations in support of current research or product development efforts using engineering software analysis tools.Prepares design sketches or drawings for components, sub-assemblies, processes or equipment using CAD or 3-D solid modeling software.Assists with the design, development, and evaluation of prototype medical devices, equipment, and software.Assists with preparation and evaluation of test protocols and test specimens.Prepares charts, graphs and other documentation in support of articles for publication, project reports and grant applications.Other duties as assigned.Education: Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field required with three years of directly related experience or Master's Degree with one year of experience.Certifications:None plexity of Work:Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Work Experience:Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field required with three years of directly related experience or Master's Degree with one year of experience.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periodsAbility to operate a computer and other office equipmentAbility to communicate and exchange accurate informationAbility to distinguish colorManual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipmentAbility to lift and transport equipment or specimens up to 20 poundsMay be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc."Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $30.41Maximum hourly: $46.38The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
