JOB TITLE:

IT Support Engineer II

LOCATION:

Baltimore – Washington, DC (Hybrid. Must be onsite day 1)

DESCRIPTION:

Compass Pointe has partnered with an MSP client that is looking to hire an IT Support Engineer II.

The successful candidate in this position will resolve IT issues of varying technical difficulty and will provide consultative advice to customers. This position is a combination of remote support and onsite services to customer offices throughout the greater Baltimore and DC areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilizes computer and networks technical knowledge to support IT initiatives and provide first-level technical information systems support to the business customer community utilizing mostly Windows-based computer systems.

• Provide timely and competent responses to technology support requests.

• Provide quality desktop, server, and network support.

• Communicate technical information effectively to clients and internal management.

• Performs basic problem solving and assistance on various Windows-based software applications and hardware systems for business customers.

• Performs routine technical assistance and maintenance duties.

• Maintains written support records in ConnectWise customer support system, document customer support information.

• Performs routine technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems; troubleshoots and resolves general system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.

• Assists with the implementation of technology projects with moderate scope and impact.

• Assists with the installation, configuration and maintenance of computers, workstations and/or other related equipment and devices.

• Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, standards and/or systems.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Minimum of a two-year degree preferably with emphasis on information systems or technology management (Or the equivalent combination of experience and training)

Solid competency in workstation operating systems, applications, networks and networking technologies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.

• Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.

• Ability to provide direction to customers to resolve technological issues.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

• Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware, software, and/or network solutions.

• Ability to analyze and resolve basic computer problems.

• Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems.
