This position is staffed in Camden, AR, at Armtec's world-class, sole-source production facility for felted fiber nitrocellulose combustible cartridge cases for medium and large caliber military ammunition; and pyrophoric payloads for training grenades.Job SummaryTechnical liaison between suppliers, purchasing, engineering, and quality functions to support projects that affect supplier selection, qualification, performance, productivity, and effectiveness. Oversees the use of standard tools and methodologies to solve problems, and implement CAPA and prevent re-occurrence. The top three performance objectives for this role are: (1) drive continuous improvement within the company's supply base, (2) ensure compliance and conformance, and (3) ensure that effective and efficient Quality Management Systems are established, documented, implemented, and maintained. Projected travel is less than 10%.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain approved supplier process.Provide input into the supplier performance information and selection of new suppliers for the companyEnsure purchased components, sub-assemblies, and devices comply with all print specifications and applicable regulationsEnsure supplier productivity meets purchase order expectationsSupply information into the metrics, trends, and performance indicators of suppliers in order to drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain and to support strategic business objectivesConduct oversight of supplier Corrective Action (CA) activities, to include ensuring a proper level of effort prior to CA closureWhen business interests warrant, conduct supplier development activities that bring a supplier to an acceptable level for inclusion on the approved supplier listIdentify, submit, and facilitate technical changes that will make improvements in quality, cost, and deliveryDevelop and deliver public presentations as appropriate for all levels within the organization or at supplier locationUtilize multiple problem solving tools, such as 8D, 5Why, Ishikawa Diagram, Process Mapping, DOE, etc. in collaboration with suppliers, sub-tiers, and internal customersResearch, select and commission receiving inspection equipmentDevelop, implement, and train personnel on receiving inspection equipment and processesMaintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from aboveUnderstand and live by Armtec's ethics and business conduct policiesPerform other duties and tasks as directed by the direct ManagerQualificationsGood analytical abilityBlueprint reading skills/schematic reading, including G.D.T.Excellent written and oral communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracySpeed and quality of workComputer skills (for example: Microsoft Suite, Minitab)Ability to work effectively in a fast, high energy environmentComfortable in making decisions in a rapid paced, forward evolving environmentUnquestionable commitment to, and ability to facilitate actions in, continuous improvement effortsAbility to influence actions at supplier facilities in support of delivery and quality objectives through strong interpersonal skillsSelf- starterAbility to follow established methods and precedentsArmtec CompetenciesDemonstrate ability in the Armtec competencies as an employee: customer focus, ethics and values, problem solving, integrity and trust, functional/technical skills, listening, action-oriented, composure and values diversity.Education & Professional Work Experience RequirementsTo ApplyPlease apply on-line on the Armtec Career Website, www.armtecdefense.comEqual Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Protected VetMust be authorized to work in the U.S.To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government
