THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our accounting team. As an Accountant , you will play a crucial role in managing various accounting functions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide accurate financial information and insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as one of the key players in the month-end close process, ensuring timely completion. Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned accounts, promptly addressing and resolving any discrepancies identified. Perform and/or review major bank account reconciliations by business day three. Accurately calculate and record event rights accruals and prepaids based on contractual agreements. Record intracompany and foreign exchange transactions with precision. Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly production cost reports, documenting and effectively communicating any significant findings or issues to the management team. Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis, providing timely and valuable insights to support decision-making processes. Lead effective collaboration with the production team, diligently gathering pertinent data and validating cost allocations. Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement, driving continuous improvement in operational accounting. Document accounting processes, ensuring clarity and consistency in accounting practices. Contribute to accounting software improvements, leveraging technological advancements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with external auditors, providing requested information during annual audits, ensuring completion of all assigned tasks by due dates. Assist with tax filing, registration, and correspondence, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to take initiative and work independently. Ability to adhere to deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality. Excellent project management skills, ensuring efficient execution of assigned tasks and projects by assigned deadlines. Strive for continuous improvement in the quality of work, seeking excellence in all aspects of accounting operations. Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and its practical application. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and information sharing. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently. Team player and ability to collaborate with other departments. Ability to adapt in an environment with constant change. Microsoft Excel power-user. Previous audit experience a plus. Prior experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Tipalti, Netgain, FloQast and Domo a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required. Minimum 2-3 years. Combination of public and private experience preferred. CPA or actively pursuing CPA license preferred.
