Better yet, become one CPI has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer in CPI's Georgetown, Texas location.Chatsworth Products is in pursuit of a skilled Mechanical Engineer with significant HVAC design experience to lead research, development, design, and testing of mechanical/electromechanical products and systems for HVAC solutions. This role requires an expert in heat and fluid flow, with a proven ability to tackle complex design challenges. The ideal candidate excels in advanced modeling and clearly communicates technical insights. They will coordinate the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical/electromechanical products and systems while spearheading efforts to enhance and expand HVAC technologies. Their excellent communication skills will ensure seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams, facilitating effective project delivery in a dynamic environment.QualificationsKey Qualifications:Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC or a similar role.Provide design support for Bill of Materials and SolidWorks CAD.Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine design or application feasibility.Provide support in generating technical information for sales literature and application queries.Develop the mechanical design of heat transfer products/systems, including chilled water systems, air/water-cooled refrigerant systems, and fluid pumping systems.Create comprehensive engineering documentation for HVAC system designs, using Excel, Bill of Materials, pipe drawings, and mechanical drawings.Perform basic 3D CAD design/modeling (SolidWorks and/or sheet-metal design knowledge preferred).Design test control apparatus and equipment while developing methods and procedures for product/system testing.Review products to verify compliance with applicable industry standards.Conduct simple structural and heat transfer analysis and load calculations.Create documentation for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of products/systems.Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to prevent malfunctions.Perform additional duties as assigned.PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Willingness to travel for project needs and collaborations.Adaptability to work in office and lab/manufacturing environments.Capacity for hands-on prototype development, including standing for long periods.Skilled use of instruments for thermal evaluation and measurement.Adherence to safety protocols with thermal devices and high-temperature settings.As a CPI, Mechanical Engineer you will also enjoy the unique benefits of becoming a CPI Employee Owner.
