Position Summary:

Provides academic leadership for the general education program and transfer pathways to support the College’s mission, vision, and strategic initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Evaluates full-time and part-time instructors, including College Credit Plus (CCP) instructors, and provides performance coaching. Recommends faculty for appointment, promotion, tenure or retention. Manages student enrollment and adjusts sections as needed per the institution’s policies and procedures. Collaborates with the Director of Human Resources to recruit, select, and onboard full-time and part-time instructional and administrative staff. Assigns instructors based on appropriate credentials and determines course modality, classrooms, and time of course offerings to best suit student needs. Supports faculty in developing instructional skills through observation and evaluation. Assists the VPAA in coordinating professional development activities and establishing individual professional development plans for faculty members. Coordinates the outcomes assessment process for general education courses and transfer pathways. Assists the VPAA with the program review process, as needed. Ensures all Transfer Assurance Guide (TAG) and Ohio Transfer 36 (OT36) eligible courses are submitted for approval within the state of Ohio guidelines. Oversees submission process for course and program updates/modifications for internal (e.g. Curriculum Committee) and external review (e.g., ODHE, Higher Learning Commission). Leads the development of new courses and programs and the revision of existing ones in response to the changing needs of students, external partners, and the college. Ensures curricular pathways into workforce and transfer programs exist for students. Understands and administers the Terra Faculty Association (TFA) contract agreement. Represents the college externally, working with state, local, and federal agencies, as well as community and K-12 partners. Holds regular meetings with the faculty to facilitate communication and faculty participation in planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum. Partners with the Director of Human Resources regarding disciplinary matters. Identifies budgetary needs and manages division budgets. Participates in formulating and administering College policies and procedures. Provide leadership for various College initiatives through service on different committees and workgroups. Coordinates and oversees laboratory spaces and determines faculty needs. Manages articulation agreements with area high schools and technology centers, as appropriate. Takes an active role in accreditation activities, grant preparations, and management of grant activities. Maintains records and prepares reports as needed for college, state, federal, accreditation, or other entity reporting requirements. Completes other related duties as assigned. Education and/or Work Experience:

Minimum requirements:

Master’s Degree in related discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

Terminal degree in related discipline Experience with program-specific, state, and national accrediting bodies Experience in supervising in higher-education faculty and staff in daily divisional operations, budget management and program coordination Teaching experience in one of the academic areas of the division at a community college. Experience working in the community and with community outreach
