Job Summary

Job Description

  • Areas in which Administrative Manager intern should expect to gain or acquire proficiency
    • Review of various types of financial statements to discuss with management team.
    • Prepare spreadsheets and documents as needed.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, eg: Purchasing, outage SME's, human resources.
    • Assist management with reports.
    • Perform miscellaneous administrative duties as needed.
    • Support day-to-day accounting activities.
    • Understanding of move-end closing procedures.
    • Preparation of monthly journal entry and metrics.
    • Support implementation of new software applications.
    • Support fixed asset accounting and knowledge physical inventory process.
    • Manage monthly financial review/forecasting process for two Power Plants.
    • Research and author memos to employees under manager direction.
    • Analyze general ledger account to identify unusual or irregular transactions and make recommendations to resolve.
    • Communicate with divisional representatives for further explanations.
    • Recording accruals and reclass entries.
    • Answering vendor inquiries.
    • Work with community involvement leaders to strengthen company-community relationships.
    • Contribute to ad-hoc projects involving the management team.
    • Back-up receiving duties including able to operate a forklift and ship packages/items.
    • Maintain job-duty readiness during off hours for emergency plant issues.
    • Organize financial documents and maintain filing of data.
    • Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones and scheduling appointments.
    • General knowledge of office equipment and ability to troubleshoot problem issues.

  • Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, internet and computer-based accounting packages.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines efficiently and with high constancy in quality of work.
  • Detail oriented with a a low threshold for errors and inefficient process.
  • Pursuing Accounting/Business degree highly encouraged.
  • Ability to work independent with minimum supervision in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls/SOX requirements.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize.
  • Candidate must be willing to occasionally travel.
  • Identifying sensitive data personnel/company and ability to handle accordingly.
