Overview

As Director of Corporate Systems Innovation, you will spearhead efforts to drive creativity, foster a culture of innovation, and implement cutting-edge ideas within our Finance, HR and Financial Services technology groups. You will be responsible for identifying emerging trends, exploring new technologies with focus on AI/ML/IoT, and leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that create value for our company and our customers. This role requires a visionary mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty.

Responsibilities

Strategic Vision: Develop and articulate a clear vision for innovation that aligns with the organization's overall strategic objectives. Identify opportunities for disruptive innovation and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics. Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer insights to identify new opportunities for innovation.
Idea Generation: Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the organization. Encourage and facilitate idea generation sessions, hackathons, and innovation challenges to solicit ideas from associates at all levels.
Pipeline Management: Manage the innovation pipeline from ideation to execution. Evaluate and prioritize ideas based on strategic alignment, feasibility, and potential impact. Develop business cases for selected initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Data & Analytics and Cloud & Infrastructure to bring innovative ideas to fruition. Facilitate collaboration and communication among team members to ensure alignment and synergy.
Prototyping and Experimentation: Lead rapid prototyping and experimentation efforts to test and validate new concepts and technologies. Iterate quickly based on feedback and data insights to refine and improve prototypes.
Resource Allocation: Advocate for necessary resources and secure buy-in from key stakeholders to support innovation efforts.
Change Management: Champion a culture of continuous learning and adaptation. Promote openness to change and risk-taking, and provide support and guidance to teams as they navigate the challenges associated with innovation.
Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of innovation initiatives. Monitor progress, analyze results, and adjust strategies as needed to maximize impact and ROI.
External Partnerships: Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, collaborations, and alliances with external organizations, startups, and research institutions to accelerate innovation and access new capabilities.
Lead a small team of developers and thought leaders to support the innovation workstreams and execute on selected initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, technology, engineering, or related field. Advanced degree (e.g., Master's) preferred.
Proven experience (>10 years) in a leadership role, ideally executive, driving innovation and leading cross-functional teams.
Deep understanding of innovation methodologies design thinking principles, and lean startup practices.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and inspire teams at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, manage uncertainty, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Track record of delivering tangible business results through innovation, including new product launches, process improvements, or revenue growth.
Experience working with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, large language models, machine learning, computer vision, or augmented reality is a plus.
Passion for innovation and a relentless drive to push boundaries, challenge the status quo, and create value through creativity and experimentation.
