The Cellular therapy and stem cell transplant RN Coordinator Lead position reports to the Cellular Therapy Program Manager. The position is responsible for developing and providing education to the staff involved in the program in collaboration with the Nursing Professional Development Specialist for each respective area.
Areas covered include but are not limited to outpatient and inpatient infusion units, apheresis, photopheresis, and cellular therapy and stem cell transplantation coordinators. Additionally, the RN Coordinator Lead will also directly lead and manage any new product onboarding requirements in collaboration with the program manager as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • 1. Education
    • 1.1 Assesses the learning needs based on regulatory requirements including FACT, AABB and FDA, evidence-based practice, and staff-identified needs.
  • 2. Administrative role
    • 2.1 Develops SOP related to clinical practice for the cellular therapy and stem cell transplant programs in collaboration with the Cell Therapy Program Quality Manager.
  • 3. Role development
    • 3.1 Supports the development of nursing leadership skills in self and clinical nursing staff according to ANA Standards of Practice, to promote professional nursing practice and quality patient care.
  • 4. Collaborative partnership
    • 4.1 Represents nursing in the development of interprofessional learning activities.
  • 5. Champion of Scientific Inquiry
    • 5.1 Develops, educates, and implements quality improvement initiatives and outcomes across the program.
  • 6. Orientation
    • 6.1 Develops, implements, and manages Cell Therapy and stem cell transplant competency-based orientation.
  • 7. Competency management
    • 7.1 Develops initial and ongoing competencies based on FACT standards, cell therapy best practices, GxP, and YNHHS policies.


Qualifications:

EDUCATION

Bachelor?s degree or higher required, one degree must be in nursing (Either BS or MS in nursing)

EXPERIENCE

3-5 Years of active Nursing experience in oncology, one year of relevant teaching experience preferred, nursing staff development and/or specialty area preferred.
Experience in stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies strongly preferred.

LICENSURE

RN licensure in the state if CT

SPECIAL SKILLS

Demonstrates ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs. Strong interpersonal skills.
