Principal Responsibilities:The Stamford JCC is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Volunteer Coordinator to join its growing team. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Volunteer Coordinator will manage all aspects of volunteering for the JCC.Responsibilities include:recruiting and interviewing/screening volunteersconducting orientation and training sessionsmatching volunteers with opportunitiespromoting volunteer opportunities to existing volunteers as well as the JCC communitycommunicating with various departments and community organizations to identify volunteer opportunitiescreating and maintaining accurate and current descriptions of duties and responsibilities for volunteer opportunitiesmaintaining a volunteer databasemonitoring volunteer hours and impactmaintaining volunteer policies and proceduresoverseeing the scheduling of volunteerssupervising and supporting volunteer activities during special eventsand promoting the JCC volunteer program and its accomplishments.Minimum Qualifications:Skills:Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; able to multitask.Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with volunteers, staff, and members.Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work with multiple departments and committees.Maintain poise and patience when dealing with volunteers and members, always maintaining diplomacy and grace under pressure.Solid analytical, creative, and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional written and verbal communication, including excellent interpersonal, networking, and presentation skills.Strong attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude.Must possess the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degreeApplications must be accompanied by a cover letterMinimum of 1-2 years of transferrable/relatable experience.Advanced Microsoft Office skills; proficient in standard word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications.Occasional weekends and evenings required.Salary: $24/hour (approximatley $25,000/year)To apply, please send resume and cover letter to Rebecca Isenstein at risenstein@stamfordjcc.org.Salary:$25000Agency Information:The Stamford Jewish Community Center is a cultural, educational and recreational center, offering exceptional programs, classes and special events designed to enrich the mind, body and spirit.
