Responsibilities:
+ Record and analyze financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
+ Manage and review accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
+ Provide weekly reports on cash balances, cash requirements, deposits, and withdrawals.
+ Conduct daily reviews of bank account activities and maintain detailed records.
+ Maintain monthly account reconciliations, primarily using Excel, to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are addressed.
+ Submit monthly sales tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Analyze and review all financial reports and statements, identifying variances and trends, and providing insights for decision-making.
+ Research discrepancies in financial reports and assist in the explanation of variances and trends to management.
+ Prepare and provide accounting reports to support other departments, including manufacturing and sales, ensuring they have the financial information needed to operate effectively.
+ Oversee and lead the cycle counting process, ensuring inventory records are accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is nice to have, but not a mandatory requirement.
+ 2+ years of experience in general accounting or a related role.
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
+ Advanced Excel skills, including experience with complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
+ Knowledge of sales tax regulations and experience in submitting sales tax returns.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with various departments.
