Konami Gaming is looking for a Director, Regulatory Compliance to join our team

As a key compliance management position, this role will ensure that business practices, policies, and dealings of the corporation meet regulatory requirements to protect the corporation from any adverse action and provide counsel to management on regulatory compliance matters to ensure the best interests of the Company. This position is responsible for providing operational leadership to the Compliance department to ensure organizational compliance and the effective resolution of problems affecting Company operations. This position also requires the flexibility to act autonomously at all times while adhering to overall department and company policies and procedures.

What you'll be doing:
  • In conjunction with the Vice President, this role will serve as a key point of contact, internally and externally, for all regulatory issues, audits and communications. This involves maintaining solid business relationships with regulators and company personnel.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance issues for all of Konami Gaming Inc.'s operations including branch offices, licenses and business practices.
  • Responsible for researching and coordinating jurisdictional licensing requirements for company, key personnel, and other parties. This includes investigating facts and preparing documents to assist the Compliance department.
  • This position is responsible for interfacing daily with all Konami Gaming Inc. employees, departments and divisions regarding compliance issues and must be prepared to work across traditional organizational boundaries.
  • Directs formal document control for all reviews and investigations, oversees compliance audit schedules and action plans required.
  • Responsible for maintaining all corporate and regulatory licenses with 100% accuracy.
  • Represents the company at meetings with regulatory authorities or other industry bodies on issues pertaining to new regulations or regulatory issues that impact the approval and renewal of gaming licenses, product transport, staff licensing and corporate licensing.
  • Manages the operations of the regulatory compliance department, including responsibility for operational planning, budget management, headcount, and performance management. Carries these supervisory responsibilities out in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Develops and documents processes, procedures, and systems to maximize the efficiency of the approval process for the company's regulatory compliance process.
  • Responsible for the integrity and security of the company's Compliance database for licensing activity, cataloging a chronology of all relevant action on the company's vendor and customer compliance and other necessary information.
  • Facilitates responses to regulatory inquiries or legal matters in all jurisdictions, in a timely manner.
  • Produces regular status reports as required by the Vice President and other company executives.
  • Serves as the steward of jurisdictional database by maintaining status of requests and safeguarding highly confidential financial and personal files.
  • Researches, analyzes, and communicates compliance licensing regulations pertaining to gaming industry.
  • Prepares legal documents, reports, organization charts, and detailed licensing forms for submission.
  • Prepares affidavits of documents and maintains document file. Updates and maintains submission plan, approvals by jurisdiction, pending approvals, temporary licenses, and other.
  • Coordinates with other departments or personnel to acquire licensing in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensures the most accurate, confidential, up-to-date and timely information is provided throughout gaming jurisdictions or in-house either by phone, fax, email, or hard documents and archives in appropriate manner electronically to safeguard information.
  • Reports to senior manager any discrepancies or problems requiring resolution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we'll want you to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years or more of related experience and/or training in corporate and regulatory licensing within gaming company. Demonstrated and proven managerial experience required with a minimum of five years management experience required.
  • Knowledge of State and Tribal gaming laws/statutes/regulations, government regulations, agency rules. Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Adobe Professional. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, in addition to calculating foreign currency. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Business Writing - Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Work Environment:
  • Extreme repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse and telephone. Position can be high stress and extremely fast paced. Ability to handle directives, assess situations, enter into dialogue and complete tasks.
  • Position shall work primarily in an office environment. Position shall maintain an office, in close proximity of other cubicles and offices.
