The Accounting Manager, Revenue, performs functions and tasks related to accounts receivable, cash receipts, general accounting, and monthly reconciliations. This position collaborates closely with the Grants Administrator with grant submission, grant payment tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.

What you’ll bring to the job:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. CPA preferred but not required. 3-5 years of accounting experience and demonstrated organizational and accounting skills. One year of supervisory experience. Experience in association management system accounting is a plus. Very proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting. Accounting software knowledge is very important (Sage-Intacct or similar). Excellent interpersonal skills and working well as part of a team. What you’ll own:

Manage the accounting process for revenue recognition for membership fees and dues. Manage and record the publication revenue recognition process. Oversee and maintain the record of the annual meeting registration fee and revenue recognition. Lead on annual meetings and other meetings reconciliations for funded program submissions. Manage and reconcile the recognition of revenue for the Funded Programs. Oversee and maintain customer invoices and their payments periodically, reconcile commission schedule to monthly cash receipts; liaise with advertising vendors, sponsorship clients, and exhibitors. Manage multiple revenue schedules supporting the Society’s various product lines. Manage the accounts receivable and general ledger accounting functions. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly revenue reports and perform ad hoc analysis for revenue. Assist with reconciling grant financial records with general ledger and preparation of month-end reports. Prepare journal entries for the general ledger. Gather, track, and review monthly revenues; and produce monthly summaries of data in spreadsheet format. Assist with month-end closing and year-end audit schedules. Assist with grant submission(s), liaise with Finance on reconciliations, liaise with Education on outcomes reporting. Various projects as needed and assist with other departmental functions. What you’ll do well:

Ensure the effective and efficient use of association resources. Develop and effectively manage departmental/project budgets. Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate business practices and procedures, ability to allocate resources, plan procurement, and oversee budgets and contracts to ensure fiscal responsibility. Be relied upon to ensure that projects within areas of responsibility are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Monitor programs and/or activities and take corrective action when necessary. Realize and own up to one’s mistakes and find a solution to correct or improve and prevent future repetition. Interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Plan and organize tasks to achieve objectives. Organize in sequential and/or logical order in preparation for accomplishing an objective. Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Microsoft Office Products, AMS). What you’ll get out of it:
