Role Summary:

Procurement Specialists are critical in optimizing our supply chain activities, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely materials delivery for our manufacturing operations. Your ability to communicate clearly and concisely will facilitate smooth interactions and foster strong relationships. In addition, meticulous attention to detail is essential as you will oversee multiple projects concurrently. Your keen eye for detail will enable you to monitor and manage various aspects of procurement, ensuring accuracy and success.

Responsibilities

Supplier Management and Negotiation

  • Research and evaluate new suppliers to ensure products and materials meet organizational needs.
  • Negotiate terms and contracts with vendors to achieve optimal pricing and conditions.
  • Collaborate with Administrators to set up new suppliers as preferred vendors in Oracle.
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance, addressing issues and concerns proactively.

Procurement and Order Management

  • Generate and manage purchase orders, including confirming delivery schedules and resolving delivery and invoice issues.
  • Update internal databases with purchase orders and part information.
  • Work with logistics to resolve inventory and receiving issues.
  • Track, reconcile, and manage invoices for purchased materials.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Coordinators, and Project Managers to meet supply goals.
  • Ensure internal customer requests are handled professionally and promptly.
  • Assist in various facets of the supply chain, including administrative tasks.
  • Exemplify our company values by fostering collaboration, building strong partnerships with team members and customers, and continuously innovating to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Analytical and Problem-Solving

  • Evaluate materials/procurement demands and determine necessary actions.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve procurement-related issues and answer questions.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in applying logic, reasoning, and analytical problem-solving skills to procurement challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, both oral and written.
  • Some manufacturing knowledge and an ability to anticipate supply chain delays.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of supply chain fundamentals.
  • Displays an excellent work ethic, self-motivation, and a willingness to operate with a sense of urgency.
  • Has a track record of building strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable of prioritizing work and multi-tasking with great attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite,including Access. Familiarity in business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems preferred.
