Raleigh, NC Your impact: As the Network Engineer Sr., you'll have the opportunity to use your detail orientation, analytical talents, and IT knowledge as you recommend, design, implement and maintain network infrastructure technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, WiFi, VolP, and telecom systems. You'll support these technologies in both physical and AWS/Azure virtual environments. You'll provide detailed network designs, implementation plans, migration/rollback strategies, and disaster recovery plans. You'll also have the opportunity to use your strong communication skills as you work closely with internal staff, business units, and vendors to ensure stability and availability of the network infrastructure and network capacity. The contributions you can anticipate making: Researching, designing, and implementing all network infrastructure devices and applications (core and branch network), Wireless networks, data circuit and telecommunications, cable management, corporate VoIP, data center DMZ's, AWS/Azure IaaS, enterprise network management/reporting tools, and other supporting network technologies. Contributing to the on-going development of enterprise IT network management and strategies in alignment with the strategic vision of the organization and IT. This includes all LAN/WAN devices, network modifications and upgrades, enterprise network monitoring/alerting, network uptime and usage statistics/reporting, incident response, and assisting or leading the planning, execution, and project management role of small-medium size IT based projects. Participating in or leading all phases of network engineering activities including concept definition, requirements analysis, design, development, integration, installation, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning. Providing written documentation or graphical views, as needed, of the entire organizational information technology infrastructure and how it pertains to security including authentication, authorization, and accountability. Mentoring junior engineers and vetting the change submissions and/or project work of others. Identifying, assessing, and mitigating network impacts to the organization. Integrating network management, support, and requirements into the Systems/Network production implementation certification processes. Quantifying and modeling network design changes and/or upgrades to evaluate network utilization vs. cost and recommend changes. Providing proactive identification of technology and/or business drivers affecting the company and their impact on the enterprise network infrastructure.
