Located on the Queens-Nassau boarder, Queens-Long Island Renal Institute has a longstanding reputation for the finest quality of care, state-of-the-art technology and uncompromised dignity.Position Overview: The Dialysis Dietitian assists the Renal Dialysis Health Care Team (physicians, nurses, technicians and social workers) in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities related to the objectives of improved patient care through the evaluation and maintenance of good nutritional care, dietary counseling of individual patients and teaching the principles of therapeutic nutrition in renal disease.Key Tasks Include: Conducts initial comprehensive nutritional assessment and comprehensive plan of care within first 13 treatments or one month, whichever is first for review by the interdisciplinary teamReviews patient's lab values monthly for trends and correlationsDiscusses lab values with the physician and reviews results with the patients on a monthly basisEstablish nutritional goals for patients and continue to monitor patient progress and readjusts goals that are not metComplete and document ongoing assessment, evaluations and monthly notes, along with documenting and monitoring ongoing nutritional issues and goalsRecords, reaction to and comprehension of diet instructions and notes on the nutritional progress of the patient information in the patient's permanent record Participates in health team rounds assisting the physician in establishing the proper diet order according to the patient's specific co-morbidities and requirementsPosition Qualifications: Registered DietitianAt least one (1) year of prior experience as a Registered DietitianPrior experience working with renal patients or in a dialysis unit strongly preferredFully vaccinated against COVID-19
