Description

The Staff Accountant II is responsible for the Spring City manufacturing ledger for the Davlyn Group and prepares monthly complex general ledger reconciliations including fixed assets and inventory. The position is responsible for maintaining strong internal controls for the AP & AR functions and strives to improve the cash conversion cycle. This is an on-site position.

DGH is a leading manufacturer of technical textiles, fabrics and yarns used in the appliance industry, industrial markets, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain the General ledger including:
  1. Calculation and recording of monthly journal entries.
  2. Complete and maintain month account reconciliations.
  3. Review and analyze monthly financial results, working with operations management to provide insight and counsel on operational tactics and strategies.
  4. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
  • Monthly reconciliation of inventory and review of changes.
  • Review costs for all external inventory, labor, and material purchases.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting system, documentation, and records.
  • Assist with completion of budgets, forecasts and other future financial plans.
  • Develop, document and maintain company accounting procedures and processes.
  • Reconcile and maintain fixed assets and record monthly depreciation expense.
  • Prepare and file state sales and use tax returns.
  • Assist in audit preparation.
  • Assist accounting team with understanding of transactional processes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Basic knowledge of cost accounting, ideally has manufacturing background.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting & 4+ years progressive experience in accounting, finance operations, or related experience
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting process cycles (order to cash (A/R), procure to pay (A/P), fixed assets, and inventory)
  • Comfortable working in multiple accounting software systems (Preferable experienced in Sage 100, Global Shoop Solutions and/or Macola ERP)
  • Advanced Excel skills
Worksite:
  • This is an on-site role, based out of Spring City, PA.
Travel:
  • This position may require occasional travel
Hours:
  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
  • Departmental demands may necessitate additional work outside of the standard work hours.
