Position Purpose:

Performs complex (journey-level) work.Implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of the corporate information technology networks, systems, and information.Acts as a first-line responder to security events and incidents.Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical analysis with a variety of information security tools and techniques to identify, analyze, and resolve security threats, vulnerabilities, events, and incidents.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that they remediate or mitigate security/privacy vulnerabilities and assist in the respond to events and incidents.
  • Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation.
  • Monitor, analyze, and investigate Security Incident and Event Manager (SIEM) event and incident alerts to identify and resolve incident response activities.
  • Provide counter-measures or mitigations for security/privacy controls.
  • Monitor and analyze email security systems and provides input for improving email security.
Minimum Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information science, management information systems, or related discipline
    • Additional experience in an information technology system and network role or other related areas may be substituted for Bachelor's degree on a year per year basis. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent.)
Certification
  • Have or obtain a professional security certification, such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco CyberOps, CyberSec First Responder (CFR), or GIAC Certified Incident Handler Certification (GCIH) within 1 year of employment or promotion
Experience
  • One (1) year in an information technology systems and network or related role
  • One (1) year in information security or support of an information security
  • One (1) year in performing modern Security Incident and Event Manager (SIEM) solution operations
  • One (1) year of FedRAMP cloud application operations
