Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Minimum Work Experience10 15 years experience managing and directing daily computer operations and support function preferred.Supervisory and leadership skills in addition to project management experience.Familiarity with software development and support including programming and business systems analysis and design.Understanding of computer systems and network security concerns and mitigation of associated risks.Appropriate certifications demonstrating expertise and experience as a health information and technology professional.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides direction, management, and coaching for the applications, operations, service desk, database, network and telecommunications teams. Provides contract negotiations and management over all information technology vendors. Advises executive management on information technology and business computing systems. Services as the Facility Information Services Officer responsible for ensuring compliance to the Companys and Facilities Information Security Program. Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
