General Overview:

The Human Resources Generalist II is responsible for contributing to the success of our objectives by assessing and anticipating Team Member, Management, and related brand needs, and works across departments to develop and deliver integrated solutions. Initiatives and programs will touch all facets of Human Resources, including managing team member relations, full-cycle recruiting, training, organizational design and development, and administering payroll functions. This includes ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with all payroll regulations, and addressing payroll-related inquiries from team members.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried team members.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in payroll entries and benefit deductions.
  • Administer team member benefits enrollments, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Provide guidance to team members on benefit options as well as provide support to the Payroll Manager for the open enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate and conduct the new team member onboarding process to ensure team members gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and investigate and resolve payroll-related inquiries.
  • Ensure proactive HR management and anticipate HR issues, concerns, and needs based on business strategies and internal and external factors.
  • Handle full cycle recruiting efforts; prepare job postings, place recruitment ads, screen applicants and resumes, conduct candidate interviews and reference checks, and provide hiring managers with best qualified candidates; communicate employment offers to select candidates and negotiate counter offers when required.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing tools, processes, and programs to support performance management, talent assessment and retention, Team Member development, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate and assist in training activities within assigned department (i.e. onboarding, orientation programs, compliance training, and leadership performance).
  • Proactively develop and implement process improvements considering system capabilities and business needs.
  • Partner with Human Resource Manager on special projects and assignments intended to ensure Restaurant K remains a preferred place to work.
  • Lead by example and create, participate in, and support all internal culture building activities (corporate events, wellness activities, etc.).
  • Possess the ability to design internal communications for system-wide distribution (newsletter, corporate email communications, etc.)

  • Thorough knowledge of gross to net payroll and general accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of wage and hour and taxation requirements.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines.
  • Strong understanding and ability to apply Human Resources concepts, practices, programs, methodologies, and related laws.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Friendly and positive attitude in the face of adversity.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate communication across diverse work groups.
  • Works well under pressure, exercising good judgment, and handles conflicts and uncomfortable situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor with a focus on collaboration.
  • Promote the culture, values, and mission of Restaurant K.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A bachelors degree in human resources, preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification, preferred.
  • At least four (4) years experience working in the human resources & payroll field, with at least two (2) years in the food and beverage industry.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Working knowledge with ADP and other payroll/HRIS systems required, WorkForce Now preferred.
  • This position currently follows a hybrid work schedule, with two days per week designated for remote work and three days in-office. Must be able to commute to our office location for on-site work as required. This hybrid schedule is subject to change.
