Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager’s primary responsibilities are developing the human capital necessary to support the achievement of the financial compliance and strategic goals of BMSC, addressing talent needs through recruiting, staffing, employee relations and training.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
· Facilitate and manage HR projects, such as employee annual performance reviews, annual open enrollment, employee engagement surveys, employee training courses, etc.
· Develop and distribute training materials and employee education tools for various HR processes (new hire onboarding, employee self-services, performance review/tracking, open enrollment, etc.).
· Oversee the hiring process and recruiters. Work with department heads to identify staff vacancies, track hiring KPIs, assist with recruit, interviews, and hire approved applicants as needed.
· Perform staffing duties such as dispute resolution, employee terminations and wage adjustments, and administering disciplinary procedures.
· Maintain and update company policies, structure, job descriptions, and employee handbooks.
· Serve as the initial contact for intake and assessment of employee concerns and complaints.
· Conduct interviews with complainant(s), witnesses, and individuals against whom complaints are filed, gather, and analyze facts associate with complaints.
· Partner with Associate HR Director and in conducting investigations to provide counsel and facilitate a prompt resolution. Provide a summary to the Associate HR Director on the findings of investigations.
· Assist in resolving, coaching, and guiding supervisors/managers through employee relations issues and performance concerns in partnership with Associate HR Director team to ensure proper resolution in accordance with BMSC policies and procedures.
· Ensure proper documentation is being conducted for all investigations, disciplinary meetings, and counseling.
· Participate and attend employee disciplinary meetings and terminations when needed.
· Ensure proper training is accomplished by employees, for their position as well as for managers, in executing their duties in HR-related matters, such as merit and performance management within the LMS system.
· Advocate for employee retention and development (including exit interviews).
· Monitor employee retention and turnover by conducting exit interviews and employee surveys.
· Coordinate internal promotions and job transfers to include training plans and training matrix requirements of their new role.
· Oversee the execution and coordination of New Hire Orientation and the overall onboarding process when needed.
· Assist with the administration and resolution of unemployment claims.
· Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
· Ensure compliance with company policies as well as federal, state and local employment laws.
· Drive company values and culture.
· Work on-site in the plant daily.
Technical Skills Required
· Ability to effectively deal with multiple priorities, functions, and activities.
· Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organization, and the ability to maintain information in a strict, confidential manner.
· Generalist background with broad knowledge of labor, employment, wage and salary administration, and well-developed administrative skills.
· Experience in a CPG Manufacturing Environment a plus.
· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
· Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR.
· Paycom or equivalent HRMS system experience preferred.
· Biling Bilingual (Spanish) is required.
Experience Required
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Business, Communication, or related fields.
· 4+ years of current Recruiting/Talent Acquisition experience required.
· 4+ years of current Human Resource Management experience required.
· Relevant HR certification or the education and experience preferred.
·
Physical Requirements
· Regularly sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
· Physically able to lift 30 pounds.
· Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, heavy machinery, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, electrical, chemicals, and vibrations.
· Frequent use of computer screen.
· Exposure to repetitive motions (making substantial movements/motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers).
