Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant. This opportunity is contract to hire. It is a hybrid work schedule with an office in Warminster, PA. The in-office requirement is 2-3 days and there is flexibility with which days are in-office.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for monitoring the financial resources of the agency, supporting the fiscal reporting functions, and monitoring and completing various aspects of the month-end close. Along with the Controller, this position is responsible for the utilization of the general ledger software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage cash management tools weekly as assigned.

Serve as backup for remote deposits.

Assist Controller with credit balance refunds for

patients as needed.

Record monthly patient revenue recognition using billing

partner reports.

Assist the Controller in ensuring that the data in the

general ledger is posted timely and accurately.

Prepare monthly journal entries and account

reconciliations according to internal schedules.

Reconcile the organizations bank accounts.

Ensure that department heads, managers and other staff

receive regular financial reporting to support their budgeting and financial

management responsibilities.

Serve as Finance resource in grant administration team

and prepare monthly release from restrictions entries for review/approval by

the Controller.

Liaison to Development Department. Manage monthly

reconciliation of donation revenue and assist with the development and

monitoring of budgets needed for funding opportunities.

Assist the Controller and CFO with the annual budget

preparation.

Coordinate information requests and material preparation

for external auditors.

Assist Controller with other reporting as needed.

Adhere to all HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience

3 - 5 years experience in

accounting and financial management required.

Strong knowledge of accounting practices and principles.

Advanced computer skills, including competency in

Microsoft Office software, affiliate email, Internet, patient management

systems and financial accounting software systems. Experience with Blackbaud

Financial Edge preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills that

enable work in a collaborative and multifaceted team environment.

Ability to write clear, persuasive, and informative

reports, correspondence, and procedural instructions.

Ability to analyze and interpret concrete and abstract

data, business and professional journals, technical procedures, financial

reports, and applicable government laws and regulations.

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

Masters Degree

Experience in non-profit and/or healthcare accounting

preferred.
