Project Manager Job Summary Assist Associate Vice President with the planning, design and construction/renovation of all minor/major construction, maintenance and repair projects to include oversight of various utility accounts Assist Associate Vice President with oversight of the Operations and Maintenance contracts Assist Associate Vice President by ensuring that all projects are consistent with the University’s master plan Assist Associate Vice President by ensuring that the University’s interests are protected at every level of capital project development Assist Associate Vice President on all proposed facility repairs, maintenance and minor/major construction projects Assist Associate Vice President by ensuring that all plans to include scopes of work are approved by appropriate University officials and external agencies such as the State of Alabama Department of Construction Management, City Fire Marshall and Tuskegee University Insurance Carrier. Coordinate with the Associate Vice President and Procurement on all pre-project requirements to include bid documents, advertisements, pre-bid conferences, bid opening and contract negotiations/awards Monitor repair, maintenance and minor/major construction to include site observations, observance of tests, review of shop drawings, and attend various meetings Coordinate with Tuskegee University’s Associate Vice President the dates of substantial completion and projected occupancy dates of various repair, maintenance and minor/major construction projects Prior to acceptance date, ensure that University maintenance personnel are provided orientation on location, function and maintenance of all facility systems Upon project substantial completion, ensure that all record drawings, guarantees, certificates, operation and maintenance manuals and keying schedules are issued to Tuskegee University. Assist Associate Vice President in preparation of periodic project status reports for submission Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)

BS degree in Architecture, Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience managing construction projects Physical Demands

Skills and Attributes Ability to provide excellent customer service Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment Knowledge of construction and project management software Must be able to multitask with a strong understanding of core manager duties Must display excellent communication skills, negotiation skills and interpersonal abilities.
