Maintenance Purchasing Assistant

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for buying supplies, products, materials, and services at the lowest possible price while maintaining a high level of quality. The agent should establish relationships with vendors, transport orders as needed, and generally assist the Purchasing Office.

Procure Supplies

Use various media and communication tools to assist in research and obtain information to satisfy the customer's ordering needs. Help maintain current vendor accounts and assist with the setup of new accounts.

Assist the Purchasing Office

Track purchasing through the use of one or more database systems. Receive and process purchase requisitions quickly and accurately. Plan and execute the workflow of daily documents. Gather information on procedures, services, and regulations to best assist customers with their requests.

Establish Vendor Relationships

Serve as a liaison between supply vendors and the College Purchasing department. Coordinate and communicate purchasing and shipping requirements and resolve purchasing issues quickly and accurately. Evaluate each vendor's overall customer service and provide feedback to the Procurement and Warehouse Manager.

Transport Orders

Make pickup trips to get supplies from various local vendors. Deliver supplies to the warehouse or to customers as needed.

1+ years in an office, 1+ years in customer service

Physical Requirements and Skills
Ability to lift 50+ pounds, Communication, Computer Literacy, Confidentiality, Interpersonal Relationships, Operating Office Equipment, Prioritization, Professional Etiquette, Self-Starter, Sitting for long periods of time, State driver's license, Time Management
