Introduction:

Rivet Operations Company ("Rivet") has an opening for a Maintenance Technician to join our rapidly growing team in the San Diego, California area. This position will support the Military Sealift Command (MSC) providing building maintenance support. Rivet is an exceptional industry partner to the Department of Defense (DoD) and a leader in physical and cyber security, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, process improvement and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

  • Facilities preventative maintenance, repair, renovation, removal, and disposal.
  • Tools, inventory management & job tracking.
  • Perform building and facility inspections.
  • Provide material quotes and make purchases for maintenance and repairs.
  • Responsible for performing repair and maintenance activities in a safe and effective manner using safety equipment when needed.
  • Provide maintenance services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, minor landscaping, electrical, and machinery.
  • Provide general repair or replacement of window coverings, chains, door hardware, wall repair, decking, exterior stairs, interior / exterior paint, tile, carpet tile, and general upkeep of facilities.
  • Perform inclement weather preparation and facilities tie-downs.
  • Furniture, repair, upkeep, and relocation including building appliances.
  • Vegetation control & removal.
  • Minor facilities maintenance work including carpentry, painting, roofing, and welding.

Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • Personnel performing on this effort shall be U.S. citizens
  • Personnel are required to successfully obtain and maintain background investigations and clearances required for the position
  • 3+ years of experience performing general labor functions or facilities maintenance
  • Highschool or GED diploma required, Associate's degree preferred
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC maintenance and repair preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 50 lbs.
