Participates in multidisciplinary rounding, responds to coding and documentation queries and participates as requested in quality and safety initiatives. Functions overall in accordance with the House and Service Coverage Plan.II Position Qualifications: Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required.A. Education Graduate of an accredited school of Physician Assistant/MSN program or other Master's of Science degree in a health-related field including six (6) to twelve (12) months of clinical internship. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing, including six (6) to twelve (12) months of clinical internship.B. Licensure / Certification Licensed to practice in the State of Michigan: as a Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner. Certification from the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Must be credential for clinical privileges through the SJMO AHP Credentials Committee and the SJMO Board of Trustees.III Duties / Responsibilities: 1 Acts as an extension of the attending admitting physician in the provision of care for the patient. Communicates changes inpatient status to the physician and under the physician's direction documents and implements the plan of care. 2 Performs, documents and dictates complete medical history and physical examinations to assigned patients. 3 Performs rounds daily on all patients, participates in multidisciplinary rounds and performs technical duties on the floor as requested 4 Prepares and initiates orders in consultation with the Clinical Department Chief or Director of Outcomes Management. 5 Participates in the education of the patient and family on diagnosis, desired results of therapy and the expectations during hospitalization and recovery. 6 Prepares discharge summaries and participates in medication reconciliation and discharge planning. 7 Anticipates and responds to the needs of others, provides assistance, treats others with care and respect while maintaining privacy, confidentiality and dignity. 8 Performs specific Clinical Duties and Privileges in accordance with the House Coverage Services Plan.Our Commitment to Diversity and InclusionTrinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
