Creative Financial Staffing has been retained by a Private Equity backed distribution organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join their team.

  4. Role: The Accounting Manager will have 4 direct reports and will have "hands-on" responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day financial management of the company including: the preparation of the monthly financial package; management of GL accounts, annual audit and submission of government and related tax returns; and financial planning.

The Accounting Managers responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise, train and mentor a staff of 4 individuals and manage day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, Expense Reports, Credit Cards, etc.)
  • Responsible for month end and year end close including journal entries, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and accounting consolidation
  • Ensure Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled on a recurring basis as required
  • Prepare monthly Financial Statements
  • Manage the annual external Financial Statement and benefit plan audits,
  • Oversee quarterly and annual Federal & State tax filings.
  • Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies.
  • Continually review accounting policies and procedures to ensure that the company is compliant with GAAP and statutory accounting

Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Must have been in an accounting leadership position for at least 1 year.
  • Distribution or manufacturing industry preferred but not required.
